4 Tips to Avoid Sickness This Fall

Sickness tends to spread quickly during the fall season and our children are usually the first ones to get it! Help your children avoid sickness this fall by using our 4 tips below.

Boost Their Immune System

As the weather gets colder, staying hydrated and practicing good hygiene skills can help boost your child's immune system and protect them from the sickness that goes around. Teach your children how to wash their hands properly and also keep a hand sanitizer in their backpack that they can easily access.

Keep Backpacks Clean

During the school year, backpacks tend to become chaotic and can become a home for germs. To help keep germs away, regularly clean out your child's backpack and also wipe the inside out once a week with a sanitizing wipe. This will help keep your child's belongings clean, along with keeping your chid healthy.

Don't Share at School

A good portion of parents work hard to teach their children to share. However, when it comes to meals and drinks at school, this should not be encouraged. Germs and viruses can travel easily when sharing snacks, water bottles and other food/beverage items that are shared. By encouraging your child to not share their food or beverages, this can help protect them from sickness schoolmates may be carrying.

Get More Sleep

The fall season can get busy with the holidays right round the corner. To keep your child reenergized, make sure they are getting enough sleep. Not only will this help them fight off sickness, it will also give them more energy throughout their day as well.
